§ 58-21. Penalty for violation of chapter.

Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, any person committing or attempting to commit any of the criminal offenses enumerated and defined in this chapter, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, on conviction of such misdemeanor, shall be punished as provided in section 1-12; provided, however, that no such penalty shall exceed the penalty imposed for a similar offense under state law.
